The last advice I have for you is that no matter the business transaction you are involved in and no matter how much is involved, NEVER MANIPULATE YOUR WAY INTO USING PAYPAL IF YOU ARE IN NIGERIA. Presently, paypal does not allow Nigerians to use it’s services for reasons best known to them (although we know it’s because of high fraudulent cases involving Nigerians online). Alternatives to paypal include-

• Alertpay
• Direct deposit of funds to your Bank Account
• Direct receipt of checks in Nigeria.

Affiliate marketing in simple terms is used to refer to an online marketing program in which you promote a merchant’s product on your own website or blog to help the merchant generate more sales.

Affiliate marketing is a very simple, yet effective way of earning money online. The amount you earn is directly proportional to the quality of time you put into promoting the product(s) on your site. And remember, time is money.

THE REQUIREMENTS FOR AN AFFILIATE MARKETER
For you to be an affiliate marketer, you will need to have a website or a blog (although websites are more productive) as they are the medium with which you reach your customers online.

There are several affiliate programs available on the internet today, but take note and be careful because not all of them are credible. So don’t fall a prey. Personally, I use Linkshare.com. They have been great and are doing a nice work.

Note that:
1. Targeted traffic is the life-blood of your online business. An increase in TARGETED traffic produces more SALES which in turn produces more INCOME for you.
2. You must learn how to create a Theme-Based Content Site... a site or blog that is loaded with high value Keyword-Focused Pages that rank highly with the Search Engines and get the click through to income-generating sites.
3. You must endeavour to read the T.O.S of your merchants or affiliates befor signing up for their program.
4. You are not supposed to sell on your site or blog, instead you pre-sell to your visitors (tell them a little review of the product) and lead them to your merchant’s site where they will buy the product and generate income for you.

GOOGLE ADSENSE

Put in simple terms, Google Adsense is a program from Google that enables website owners and blog owners to place adverts on their sites or blogs. These adverts are paid for by big businesses, and Google places some of these adverts on your site or blog to help them generate more referrals or traffic to their advertisers. Due to their high technology, a unique ID (for the adverts been displayed on your site or blog) is given to you (that is, associated with your site or blog) when you sign up for adsense and as such when those adverts are clicked, Google knows the site or blog that generated the click and pays the publisher.

You might want to ask : Hey man, is it as simple as that? It’s actually as simple as that only if the following conditions have been fulfilled-

1. Your website or blog must have unique content (try as much as you can to develop a KEYWORD – FOCUSED – CONTENT - PAGE)
2. Your website or blog must generate enough traffic as ‘the more visitors you have, the more probability of generating clicks to your merchants’ site’. This is the real big deal as many people are never able to get enough visitors or traffic so they can get the click throughs.
3. Your website or blog content must be in hot demand by the public. It is not enough to develop a webpage on just any topic you love, you need to work on a hot topic (theme) because you need to follow the trends. Know what people are searching for and go for similar keywords.

POINTS TO REMEMBER
1. When setting up your adsense account, in the place of ‘Entity type’, please select ‘Individual and not Organisation’. This is important because if you select ‘Organisation’, Google might require some more information from you.
2. Never click on links on your own. Google’s technology is so savvy that they can actually find out if you do that, and they will instanctly terminate your adsense account and withhold all standing payments.
3. Never place requests (or beg/ advice) your site visitors to click on your links. It’s against Google’s T.O.S
4. Always ensure you read the Terms Of Service before signing up for Google adsense. If you in any way violate their T.O.S, your account will be terminated immediately.
